Clint Donaghue

Clint is our newest Agent here at Placer West Insurance.

Traditionally, computer people are computer people forever. Clint started in the technology industry like many others before him, in sales. Quickly, he learned that the support of the customer was a talent that he possessed and while he could sell computers, making the client satisfied with the computer was more rewarding. He spent 5 years at a large local computer retailer, then a couple of years in the Bay Area consulting on high-level network solutions. Returning back to the central valley, he took a management job with Heart Federal Savings & Loan, where he met his wife. A new job at NEC allowed him to learn more about global business, experience working overseas and spend 5 more years climbing the corporate ladder. Following an opportunity in management, Clint moved into the world of investment management which allowed him to mature a fledgling IT group into a 21 st century technology force, as a major contributor to world renowned financial institutions. It was after this success, that Clint realized he had reached a pinnacle and while it is always a great achievement to scale such heights, it often leaves you with no place to climb.

While it would seem like a long step from Information Technology, Clint had it clear that in his mind Insurance should be a customer-service, customer-oriented business. Having spent many years in Technology senior management, Clint understands client driven business and when he decided to leave that field, he searched for a field that showcased these strengths. He focused on the insurance industry and decided that he could bring a refreshing attitude to a typically, misdirected, sales driven industry. His initial foray into insurance was with a large national company and while he learned and grew into this job, he did not feel that his personal goals were being met. Enter Paul Harrison and Placer West Insurance. After one discussion with Paul, Clint found a kindred spirit who was already focused on doing business in the manner that Clint envisioned when he started down this career path. This synergy of effort has allowed Clint to step in to the Commercial Insurance side of Placer West and begin to cherish and provide additional value for these customers.

Clint has lived in Rocklin with his family for 10 years; he is very involved in coaching their various sports teams and is a basketball coach at Del Oro High School.
